SPEEDWAY RACING NEWS Publisher David Tapp recently stated:-
"I have not come across a more professional 'competitor
organisation' than the SEG (Sprintcar Entrants Group) which
is overseeing a strong resurgence in Sprintcar racing in
Western Australia."
Season 2009-10 marks the "Tenth Edition" of the AHG
Sprintcar Series - and the third powered by 410cu.in. grunt.
Non-stop, heart-in-your-mouth motor sport action is the
recipe that has wowed thousands of fans on the west coast
for the past nine summer seasons - and we're about to do it
all over again during the upcoming 2009-10 battle of the
brave!
The home circuit for the AHG Sprintcar Series rounds is the
state-of-the-art Perth Motorplex at Kwinana Beach (high
banked 500 metre clay oval), reputed to be one of the best
Speedway ovals on the entire planet.
AHG Sprintcar Series showdowns have also been contested at
the Bunbury City Speedway, Attwell Park Speedway (Albany),
Esperance Speedway, Kalgoorlie Speedway, Northam Speedway,
Collie Speedway, Margaret River Speedway and the Manjimup
Speedway.
Whenever the AHG Sprintcar Series travels into the interior
of the vast state of Western Australia, it has attracted
bumper crowds to the country venues - who marvel at the
thrilling and unique style of dirt-track action that has
been served up to them.
The success of the AHG Sprintcar Series can be gauged by the
increased car counts every season (60 different drivers
earned series points last summer) and the huge prizemoney
payout (around $100,000) that was distributed at their
annual black-tie Trophy Presentation evening.
Given the quality of talent lining up for every round of the
sizzling summer of racing, it's fair to say that every round
of the AHG Sprintcar Series is going to be a huge spectacle
for all those present.
The "Myalup Missile" Jamie Maiolo won the first two Series
in brilliant fashion, then fell just short of the "Italian
Stallion" Pino Priolo the following year.
The bumper fourth season of the Series saw the multi
Australian Speedcar (Midget) Champion Michael "The Magic
Man" Figliomeni outgun his many rivals to claim the coveted
prize.
Maiolo came back to annex the fifth series in fine style.
Then veteran American ace Dean Jacobs won five main events
as he raced to the series title for the high-profile 92.9
Kendrick Race Team.
Then we witnessed a classic confrontation as Jamie Maiolo
triumphed yet again – becoming the only four-time champion –
after a season long battle with Ryan Farrell.
Next we saw the changing of the guard with second season
whizz Ben Ellement claiming the coveted crown ahead of
talented teenager Kris Coyle and third generation star Shaun
Bradford.
Last summer the title went to Luch Monte over Shaun Bradford
and Ryan Farrell.
Consistency is the name of the game in the AHG Sprintcar
Series and the tension will mount in every race as the
contenders battle it out for those all-important series
points.
Make sure you don't miss a minute of the AHG Sprintcar
Series action during the 2009-10 season.
So buckle up, flip down the helmet visor and fire up the
beast that is the AHG Sprintcar Series.
See you at the track!!
