| Kendrick 92.9 Racing Team Ready To Roll Posted Tuesday, 8 December 2009 by Kendrick 92.9 Media |
| The Western Australian-based Kendrick Racing team is going through its final checks and balances before it embarks on an all-out assault on the nation’s east coast speedways. The two-car sprintcar team of Kerry Madsen and Jason Kendrick will shakedown two new cars and two new motors in a practice session during the Auto Trader Fast Friday meeting at the Perth Motorplex this week. From there all the gear will be loaded in the impressive new B-double configuration and head for Adelaide to contest round four of Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcars on Boxing Day. The plan is for Madsen and Kendrick to follow the series and other big shows on the east until mid-January. If all is going well after that time team owner Geoff Kendrick said they would then consider heading to Queensland for a few more shows. They will then return to Western Australia to contest a meeting at Bunbury Speedway on January 30 before heading to Kalgoorlie for the midweek WSS round and then the series final at the Motorplex on February 5-6. Kendrick said it was the most prepared they had been for a campaign and he was looking forward to some good results. The team’s new trailer configuration they will haul east is impressive. “Our normal trailer will be the second trailer now and we will have a new trailer in front of it which is two-levels high and will have two complete spare racecars and motors sitting in the top part,” Kendrick said. “It has a living quarters downstairs and there is a large storage area downstairs as well – then of course there is the second trailer which will have our other cars in.” It’s a big campaign and one the team is pumped up about. Last weekend they competed in the AHG Sprintcar Series round at Northam (an hour east of Perth) which was won by Madsen who started on the fourth row after a second and third in his heats in the #92 rocket. Young Kendrick started on the second row after a third and a fourth in his heats but he rolled after contact with Madsen when they were fighting for second place. In the open-red light the #11 was repaired and Kendrick started from the rear and clawed his way back up to seventh by the end of the race. Kendrick said the plan for his son on the east coast campaign was to get as much experience as possible. “I just want him to try and stay out of trouble and keep it on the black pieces,” Kendrick said. “I would be happy if he made a couple of A Mains over there – that would be a bonus, but the experience will be good for him.” And then in a massive understatement Kendrick said he was expecting big things from Madsen. “We are now at the stage where we have got to know each other better and we are making joint decisions and we have consummated the marriage with a couple of wins now. “And we are looking forward to a few more wins on the road. “Everything is on track and we are looking for a successful campaign.” Kendrick Racing wishes all its corporate partners and supporters a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
