Boomer Field Set For Collie Showdown
Posted Tuesday, 9 February 2010 by Ken Brown
A vey classy field has nominated for the third round of the Hydraulink Southern Thunder Sprintcar Series at the Smokefree Collie Speedway on Saturday.

In fact it looks like being the best ever lineup ever seen at the south-west venue in its 38 year history.

The Collie meet is sandwiched between the World Series Sprintcar grand final and the King of the Wings and Krikke Boys events, meaning that several of the leading eastern states team have left their transporters in the west for the rest of the annual "month of money".

The winners will be the fans who attend the Collie showdown - and I advise you to get there nice and early on Saturday.

Heading the lineup is recently crowned World Series Sprintcars Champion (for a record eighth time) Brooke Tatnell driving the #2 Toyota Genuine Parts Cool machine for the Bunbury based Krikke Motorsports team.

And if the chance to see Tatnell fly around the 500 metre Collie oval at full noise isn't enough to get you there - let's add World Series Sprintcars runner-up Robbie Farr to the list.

But wait there's more!!

Six times WA Sprintcar Champion Ryan Farrell returns home after finishing a gallant fourth in the WSS standings - only three points off third spot, would you believe in his first full attempt on the gruelling eastern states trail.

Plus we have the colourful Danny Reidy on hand and exciting youngster James McFadden driving for Kalgoorlie based Scott Milling.

And up and coming South Australian Steven Lines and Queenslander Bryan Mann will be there as well.

Not a half bad lineup - but then there is also a very strong west aussie contingent.

As well as Farrell we have US based Kerry Madsen driving for the Kendrick 92.9 Team who has already won three of the previous AHG rounds - plus the World Series Sprintcars event held at Kalgoorlie.

Madsen has already won A Mains at Manjimup, Northam and Bunbury and would love to add a Collie victory to his racing resume.

The AHG Sprintcar Series pointscore leader Jamie Maiolo was successful in the previous event run at Collie and is in top form.

Toss in the likes of Ken Sartori, Luch Monte, Ben Ellement, Shaun Bradford, Kris Coyle and the much improved Jason Kendrick and the scene is set for a hot night of racing.

Make sure you get down to Collie for this once in a lifetime opportunity this coming Saturday evening.
