| Time To Bounce Back After Wss For Cowara Motorsports Posted Friday, 12 February 2010 by BCM Motorsports Marketing |
| After taking a long sought after win in the last round of the Hydraulink Southern Thunder Series, Ken Sartori has seen his season become more of a frustrating than enjoyable one. Heading in to the Western Swing for World Series Sprintcars the team was full of confidence of a good result against the WSS invaders, but as things eventuated it finished with one of their lowest finishes of the year. He was able to grab a reasonable qualifying effort of seventeenth from the thirty four cars on hand on what was rapidly drying track on the opening night at the Perth Motorplex. With the drying conditions it made passing near on impossible and in the end he struggled to gain points through his two heats and in the end had to settle for a start in the preliminary night B-Main. Sartori had no luck there and would finish the night back in the pack in twelfth spot. The final night would see a better run from the Philmac #41 Maxim, when he grabbed some valuable points with a handy third in his only qualifying heat, improving his position up the field in that nights B-Main. He put in a valiant effort and raced hard during the event but was unable to qualify for the A-Main, finishing fifth and one spot shy of a transfer. As Sartori said this week “Our time trial wasn’t a bad one but the poor run in the opening nights heats left us in such a big hole we couldn’t dig ourselves out of it. Hey we improved on the second night and only just missed a start in the A but it was always going to a tough one and we couldn’t recover after being so far down after the first night.” So this weekend Sartori and the entire Cowara Motorsports team will head down to Collie Speedway with the confidence that the package they have is fast enough and have the knowledge to do well and walk away with a good points haul to continue to lead the STS points. “I have raced at Collie plenty of times over the years starting in the early days with the Formula 500 and last season in the Sprintcar. I’m heading down there full of confidence that we can grab another win this weekend.” The action will be fast and furious at the Collie Speedway and one thing that can be guaranteed is that Sartori and the Cowara Motorsports Philmac backed #41 Maxim will not be leaving any doubt of what they need to do to extend their lead in the Southern Thunder Series.
