| Todd Waddell $10k Pretty Awesome Posted Thursday, 18 February 2010 by BCM Motorsport Marketing |
| Todd Waddell in association with DiCandilo Steel City and Muir Motorsports would like to thank all the supporters of the #60 XXX McGrath foundation Pink Sprintcar for their overwhelming generosity during the Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcars Grand Final Event held on the 5th and 6th February at Perth Motorplex Kwinana Beach WA. The community event began when Channel 10 Sports aired great action shots of the exciting new look “Pink McGrath Foundation Sprintcar" including interviews with Team Driver Todd Waddell. The story highlighted the reason for staging the promotion with Todd stating that many in the community …and especially the Speedway Community had been affected in some way and it was the Teams way of showing support and giving back something… and as he said ”everyone has a Mother a sister or a girlfriend” Breast cancer is a disease that currently affects one in nine Australian women of all ages and backgrounds and McGrath Foundation continues to support Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer and their families. During the campaign, there was an unbelievable response to the Pink Sprintcar Appeal on behalf of the McGrath Foundation with all the Pink Wristbands selling out by the end of Saturday night and adding to this the Personal and Corporate donations - The Team is vey pleased to announce that it has raised in excess of $10,000.00 over the event for this very worthy cause in helping the McGrath Foundation support Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer. The kindness of all the Speedway Community, supporters and Sponsors in sharing the many personal stories and total strangers acts of generosity...touched all involved. Adding to the enormous effort of the team was the sale of the Pink McGrath Foundation wings for over $2500.00. The front wing going to a generous group of F500 guys and the top wing signed by all of the competing drivers was purchased by Team Owners Mat and Julie Muir along with Mat’s mother Sandy in memory of several family members who had battled cancer. Overall, the racing in the WSS stage was pretty tough with Todd giving it his all on both nights. The track conditions Friday night tested even the best of teams but with conditions more favorable on the Saturday, Todd managed to pull off a superb heat win for the teams supporters and for the McGrath Foundation much to the delight of all in the Di Candilo Steel City and WA Reticulation/TLC haulage Corporate Suites. Todd had this to say about the weekend’s event... it was a very testing track on Friday something that myself and the team hadn’t experienced at Perth Motorplex this season but we took a lot away from the night in car set up. With more favorable track conditions that the team was familiar with on Saturday night it was great to reward all my teams efforts in what was a huge exercise that started over 12 months ago in getting the awesome looking PINK McGrath Foundation car onto the track for the grand finale of WSS. I would just like to thank all the companies that made donations and to all the speedway fans over the two nights that dropped by the transporter to make donations and purchase pink armbands.
