| David Leaving The Flats Behind Posted Friday, 19 February 2010 by Fastrax Media |
| After a disappointing weekend at Collie Speedway that ended on the infield, David Ellement is looking forward to the challenge that the next fortnight will bring him. Halfway through the month of money, with the biggest two events on the WA calendar still to go, David is confident of good results. Collie started out with an eleventh place in time trials, which was followed by a fifth place in his first heat. Heat two and while David was in a good position, he suffered a flat tyre, seeing him finish that race on the infield. Because of the DNF, David was starting well back in the field for the A Main. He worked his way up from sixteenth to tenth in a matter of laps, then an incident between a couple of competitors just in front of David saw him pull an awesome move and slot into sixth place. Unfortunately it was during this awesome manoeuvre that David ran over what is believed to have been a nerf bar, giving him his second flat tyre of the night, and again forcing him to watch the rest of the race from the infield. On Wednesday of this week, David also had a sponsors night at O’Connor Indoor Kart Hire. A great night was had by all; with a number of crashes and David showing why he was a former WA Go Kart Champion, setting a quick time very early in the night. It was brother Ben who upstaged all who competed, with the fastest lap of the night in one of the last races! All the sponsors, crew, families and media thoroughly enjoyed the night, everyone leaving with big smiles on their faces. It was an awesome way for David to thank all those who support him each and every race meeting, especially his sponsors Hagstrom Drilling, Fencing Finesse, Ellement Produce, Design Signs, Watsons Express Transport , DC Ellement Psychological Services, Murphy Racecars, Genesis Shocks and Fastrax Media. David now looks forward to the King of the Wings this weekend at the Perth Motorplex. The following weekend the team will then make the trek down to Bunbury for the Krikke Boys Memorial. Once again, don’t forget to check out David’s Facebook fan page site, which will keep you up to date with all the happenings with the team, along with the latest photos from each meeting.
