Going For Easter Gold

A YEAR AGO CAMERON GESSNER CLAIMED THE HONOURS - WHO WILL IT BE THIS TIME AROUND?

It all comes down to the double header Easter shootout for the "Chase" participants in the AHG Sprintcar series.

This coming Saturday (April 19) sees the running of the The General Firecracker 50 event honouring long time flagwaver and push ute owner John Day.

The following evening will be the final night of the season with the annual Sprintcar Gold Cup the big attraction.

The 12 "Chase" drivers will be going all out to secure as many points as possible over both nights - as the exciting contest draws to a climax.

It's very tight at the top with seven times AHG Sprintcar Series Champion Jamie Maiolo holding a six point advantage over Lee Nash with a solitary point back to South Australian Luke Dillon and another marker to the defending titleholder Cameron Gessner.

The next few drivers are not out of the equation either as fortunes can change in an instant as the drivers battle it out around the high banked 500 metre Kwinana Beach oval.

Their first priority is to finish the main event and naturally endeavour to be as high up the leaderboard as possible when the checker is waved.

Who will take the honours??

You will have to be trackside to find out.
