New Deal For AHG Series Drivers

For the first time in 15 years the annual AHG Sprintcar Series has concluded before the last event of the season at the Perth Motorplex.

This has given the Sprintcar Entrants Group the opportunity to provide a whole new deal for both the fans and the drivers over the final three shows at the Kwinana Beach venue.

The AHG Triple Crown will be staged over three rounds this coming Saturday (March 28), April 4 and April 18.

And for something different the race format has been tweaked to help keep up the interest.

The cars will still hot laps in groups but qualifying will revert to the traditional single car against the clock for two laps format.

The fastest cars will start at the rear in the first round of heat races, then from the front part of the grid in the next round.

The top eight pointscorers will then contest a knockout series that will determine the first four rows of the A Main - which will be run over 30-laps.

The victor of round #1 of the Triple Challenge on Saturday will bank $2500, with the payout jumping to $3500 for round two (April 4) and $4500 for the final on April 18 - which will also be a double points round.

Certainly something different and it looks like being a great way to round out the season.

The in-form Victorian Jamie Veal returns to the high banks of the Perth Motorplex - this time behind the wheel of the potent WA #2 Krikke Motorsport projectile that carried Brooke Tatnell to the World Series Sprintcars crown.

Keeping him honest will be the recent AHG Sprintcar Series round winners - Ryan Farrell (4), Jason Kendrick (2), newly crowned AHG champ Cameron Gessner, Shaun Bradford, Jamie Maiolo and David Priolo.

Interesting additions to the field will be Jason Priolo, younger brother of David, Terry Cutts (who has a Krikke Boys Shootout win on his racing resume), Corey Hunter and Aldo De Paoli.
