Plenty on line for locals

THERE’s plenty on the line for local and visiting sprintcar drivers at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday night.

Not only is it another round of Enzed World Series Sprintcars but it is also round 11 of the 2015-16 AHG Sprintcar Series for local competitors.

Myalup market gardener Brad Maiolo is the points leader heading into this contest with his lead boosted by a win in the last round on January 16 from Ryan Farrell and big brother Jamie.

As a result he has 1730 points with five rounds of the championship remaining, ahead of Jamie who has moved up to second with 1682 points.

Round 10 was the last one for drivers to play their Jokers and those who hadn’t already played it, had it automatically done for them.

Jason Kendrick remains in third despite crashing out after just seven laps of the feature race with a broken rear axle.

Lee Nash slid out of round 10 feature race contention on lap 22 after looking strong, but he holds down fourth in the points.

His Wormall team mates in Daryl Clayden and Mitchell Wormall are next in fifth and sixth respectively.

Wormall put in a great drive to be sixth in the final, crossing the line behind Callum Williamson who also looked good in his new J&J chassis.

Shaun Bradford, as a result of missing the round for his brother’s wedding, has dropped to seventh with Williamson now eighth.

Ben Ellement was also not in action and has dropped down the order to ninth while Ryan Farrell, thanks to his second in this round and doubling his points, is now in the top 10.

Remaining rounds of the AHG Sprintcar Series: February 13 (Motorplex WSS), February 20 (Bunbury WSS), February 26-27 (Motorplex WSS) and March 12 (Motorplex).
